Viora Welsh - 704 Lake Street, Blairsburg, IA Mrs. Welsh chose “The Fa rmers Daughter” quilt block in memory of her dad, Bill Stoppelmoor and her husband Frank Welsh as well as her two sons-in-law Steve Robertson and Doug Rebhuhn who are all farmers. The quilt also honors her sisters Dorothy Spitler and Ruby Thompson, her two daughters, Glenda Roberson and Marcia Rebhuhn and her nieces Whitney Robertson and Tawnee, Brady and Brittny Rebhuhn who are all farmer’s daughters.
Viora says “It takes a special person to be a farmer: one with a strong work ethic and a person of faith. Crops can flourish or fail by the Grace of God, but we know another year is coming. I am especially thankful I grew up on a farm and that we could raise our children in the atmosphere as well. It is a good way of life – sometimes hard, but ultimately good.”
